The choice became very clear as soon Diane, the owner, showed us one of their beautifully appointed rooms. She was wonderful to speak with as well. This place is charming and chic at the same time. It has a perfect beach feel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The amenities including the beach passes, bikes and of course the patio outside of the rooms are great. The SVM is close to town, great restaurants and shopping. The beach was about a 5 minute drive from the motel. Thomas, the property manager, is an expert in all things relating to the Hamptons...and beyond! We highly recommend the Southampton Village Motel. I arrived for check-in quite late at 9pm, which the manager was informed about. Not only was he quite pleasant but he went way above and beyond to accomodate me.The room (#7) was very quiet and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Flat screen TV with a multitude of cable channels was situated in comfortable viewing spot accross from bed. (No turning my neck to watch.)There was coffee in the morning and off I went so I didn't take advantage of the bike or beach.I would definitely return. read less

There are only about 10 rooms, so you are well taken care of by Thomas, the manager, (who has interesting stories from his past to tell and a cookbook he hopes to have completed in the fall)! I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this more for couples or families with older children who could stay in their own rooms. The beds are very comfortable, they have mini fridges and safes in the rooms, and bikes available to use to bike around town. I will definitely be coming back to stay! read less

There's even a fantastic little grassy area tucked-away in the back which is perfect for laying out, enjoying your morning coffee, reading a book or sharing a few cocktails with friends and family. Best of all, they offer free bike rentals (w a lock + helmet) which I took advantage of everyday! I was there for business, but Thomas provided me the perfect biking routes, local eats and drinks and scenic beach vistas for my limited time of exploration. I hope to be back soon!! More read less

It was spotless and inviting. The bathroom was immaculate and the Queen-sized bed was comfortable. I was a most inhospitable guest, arriving at 7:30pm and leaving unannounced before the sun came up. Check-in was easy, with the manager coming out to meet me to show me the amenities. It was all done within 3 minutes because I had local dinner reservations and I got there with time to spare. Bikes are included (Little Plains beach is only a 10 minute ride) and beach passes are available if you have a car. You can walk to downtown Southampton in 10 minutes easily accessing the town's shops and restaurants. The location really can't be beat. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming spot in Southampton. read less

Too bad one cannot rate more than 5 on Tripadvisor, as this is the one establishment that would deserve six.... read more The location is very good, the rooms are clean and elegantly decorated, the bicycle service is probably the best way of going around the village, but what really makes the difference is the manager, with his inexhaustible collection of at times amusing, at times inspiring, stories of his service with a few of the most important families of the US. The bathroom was also small but they made clever use of vertical space with a recessed shelving unit and there was plenty of space for toiletries. The shower stall had a grab bar which was appreciated. There are also lots of electrical outlets. We did not have to unplug the lamps in order to charge the cell phones which was awesome. The rooms were really well lit; not super bright but not dim either. The staff was friendly and helpful. Conveniently located, I'd definitely stay there again. More read less

The bikes were great, my girlfriend loved them and we cycled to the beach and down Gin Lane which had an excellent view of the beautiful beach front houses.Southampton is extremely sophisticated and there is a good chance of bumping into a celebrity, which we did in Big Reds restaurant, which is just down the road. The rooms appear to have been gutted and everything is new and clean with a beach motif. The bathroom is tiny, and there isn't much "living area", however, there are nice chairs outside to sit and have coffee in the morning. Lots of birds chirping in the morning adds to the enjoyment. The bed was a queen and fine for us.Coffee/tea is available at the office in the morning from a Keurig machine. If you have time, speak with Thomas, the manager. What an interesting guy and expert on the area! He was also keen to make sure we had everything we need for our short stay.The really fun part for us was the awesome Townie bicycles they have available! I would recommend riding earlier in the morning to avoid cars, but the ride along Gin Lane/ Meadow was pretty wild. The Hamptons certainly take high end living to another level! They provide bike locks if you wish to park and walk around.Town is a walkable distance from this motel if you like walking, that is, and have the time. We did it and it was very enjoyable.Value for the money, I think this place delivers given the use of bicycles and proximity to town. It's a great option! read less

The rooms are in the traditional Hamptons style and, as we had a hire care, we loved we could just pull up to our door. You are a short stroll to the main street for shopping, restaurants and cafes.In particular, the gentleman who welcomed us on day one was outstanding! He provided us with an umbrella, told us where to go for certain things we needed and gave clear instructions for recommended restaurants. Later when we explained that one of us was gluten-free, he rang ahead to two restaurants and confirmed that they had a selection. It was incredibly helpful and not at all expected.The beds are extremely comfy, it's clean and all sparkly new. The only regret we have is that the weather was not warm and dry enough to sit on that lovely porch with a bottle of wine from one of the local wineries.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would highly recommend this place to others. read less

The best part of our stay was how Thomas, the manager, went out of his way to help entertain our son. Not only did he talk with and entertain him, he showed our son his lawn mover tractor and let our son follow him around daily, pet the dog and ask countless of questions. To top it of, Thomas arranged for our son to vist the local Fire Department. Twice! Our son still talks about those visits!We can not thank Thomas enough for his kindness. He was able to supply Town beach parking passes when we arrived at 10 AM. this allowed us a full day in Southampton. We checked later that afternoon at about 2:30. Room was very pretty and functional. Grounds were great for just sitting out and enjoying the fine day and later for star gazing. A Five Star Guest Experience! A childhood friend from Southern California booked this wonderful location for a family event she was attending. As I live... read more in Long Beach, NY, she invited me to come out for an overnight visit. What a total gem in the Hamptons! It is vividly clear that the owner, Diane Segreti, has the background and knowledge that is required for the hospitality industry today, and she has hired the perfect property manager in Thomas. My friend and I were thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail in this lovely " motel". We were staying in Room #2 that had twin beds and every amenity needed for the discriminating traveler. Having worked for many years in the guest experience business, the overnight stay I had totally exceeded expectations. Beds were so comfortable, linens so fresh, they were "spa like". Beautiful landscaping and wonderful white wicker furniture on the porch if one wants to sit outside and enjoy a clear, Hampton evening. And Diane 's wonderful dog, the very shy Bentley, roaming across the parking lot, added to my personal enjoyment of this location. Thomas is extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations for restaurants adding a little insider info on those that may look great, but are not so much...This is a wonderful central location to Southampton main area and short walk to all. I cannot wait to actually book a stay after the busy summer season with my husband. Just a phenomenal find in the Hamptons! I cannot sing the praises of the Southampton Village Motel enough and I was the invited guest! Thank you, Carol, for the invitation to experience this wonderful gem! The soft colors, fine linens, and new amenities really enhance this spot. The waterfall shower is very refreshing and, although the bathroom area is small, it is well equipped. The off-season rates were very attractive as well! We needed Easter desserts, so Diane referred us to Tate's Bakery, which I highly recommend. I was able to get Espresso drinks and some wonderful pastry, which we enjoyed sitting outside our room at a cute little patio table and chairs.I also brought desserts to our Easater dinner destination. Their coconut cake was to die for.Diane says that she will be including their world famous chocolate chip cookies in her "Welcome Basket" soon. The location is ideal for access to both the town and the beaches. We spent some time at Cooper Beach and enjoyed it immensely. We will be back! More read less

The Motel is within walking distance of the town center, where we walked to get breakfast and dinner, and just walk around. Glen greeted us upon arrival with enthusiasm and gave us some tips for restaurants, etc, which were all great. The town is nice too...it was off season so nice and quiet, and space int he restaurants and cafes. I think we will visit Southhampton again and will definitely stay in this motel. More read less

We had a busy schedule, so we didn't stay at the hotel much during the day, but it looked like one could definitely enjoy a nice weekend just staying at the pool at the hotel. read less
